Hello, I am Onyx or you can call me Onie, as you can see I look like a big black leopard panther. I want to tell you a little bit about my experience of being a rescue animal. I lived in a shelter most of my life, I am seven years old. Bonnie took me in three years ago. I am very much in gratitude for them taking me into their home. I really wanted a family that wanted to be with me for awhile, so I manifested a family and of course everybody can manifest what they want in there life. Even the animals do this. The families I lived with before Bonnie kept returning me to the shelter and I am not a problem cat. Unfortunately the families picked places that don’t accept animals, so they returned me back to no kill shelter. Then I got adopted shortly after this experience. When I arrived in my new home, Bonnie had new beds, blankets, toys, food dishes, and water dishes for me.
As Bonnie was showing me around the home, we walked into this big walk in closet. I noticed a orange tabby in a bed in the corner. She had it made, snacks, grooming brushes, toys, and food dishes with kibble in them. My big black and tan dog bed was right next to orange tabby, Sophie. I had to learn how to work with her and I wasn’t quite sure how things were going to work out with a thirteen year old cat set in her ways. She is a very fun cat, but she doesn’t like me to sit by her too long. She will give me a hiss here and there. I just honor that as I am new to the family. I am more of a playful cat. I like to run around the house and play with my toys. Sophie doesn’t come out of the closest too much, but she does if there isn’t food in the closet, she will run downstairs to get some food out of my dish. So you got to like it.
I felt like I had to give up a little bit of myself, my true self, but now I am coming back strong being myself and their liking it. They think I am cute, and funny. Sophie likes it, and tolerates my behavior. The point is when you bring a animal into a new home, marine park, like a dolphin. They are social animals. When they are put into a pod they don’t know, it takes them a long time to adjust to surroundings, dolphins, and humans. They might go into fear and they might not want to play with the other dolphins. The dolphin could be experiencing these same questions as humans. How do fit into this situation? How will I survive? Is someone gonna tell them how things work here? Humans go through same situations, but maybe different emotions. For instance, when a person joins the family by marriage. They learn about the new family members and it takes some time to adjust to the family traditions, culture, and food. See we are all so similar in our family and pods.
I am teaching you, that sometimes animals have a hard time joining new families, so when you bring a cat or any animal into the family don’t expect them to be ready and onboard with that family. Don’t give up on us. Don’t take us back to the shelter. Don’t move us back to aquarium. Don’t move us back to the zoo. What I am trying to say is give us a little time to adjust. Sometimes we take a little bit longer than humans do before we adjust to the whole family situation. It’s all good, it just takes us just a little bit of time.
If your animal friend is not getting along with the other animals in the environment, please look for signs of toothache, bladder infection, and/or some other condition. To get your attention, we will push the other animals buttons by picking on them, so you can help us. We can not physically speak to you, so we send you messages to your consciousness. When your in fear that we are not working out with your family, you can’t hear us and what we need help with physically, mentally, emotionally and/or spiritually.
Learn to connect with your animal friend through your heart, and third eye (between the eyebrows). Go into your heart to feel what they need help with in this situation. Ask a question and stay in the same place you asked the questions, so you can hear an answer. Be open to what you see consciously. Like a holistic veterinarian magazine popping up twice on your path that day. Be open to all possibilities and you will do just fine when you communicate with your new animal friend.
Thank you for this opportunity to speak with you today. Blessings Onyx, I am settled into my cozy home with my friend, Sophie. I love Sophie’s and Onyx’s Apartment, the closet.
